Singer/songwriter/musician from Columbus, Texas Darrel Appelt has been in the live music business entertaining country music audiences since the early 1980's. He has been a part of successful acts over the years, such as Texas Dance Time Band, The Colorado Band, and The Hit Men Band as lead vocalist and playing several instruments (drums, acoustic guitar, keyboards, harmonica).
From Dancehalls to honky tonks to festivals and county fairs, Darrel's groups have opened shows for Nashville stars such as Ronnie Milsap, John Conlee, Eddy Raven, Gene Watson, Restless Heart, Shenandoah, and Moe Bandy... and Texas artists such as Kevin Fowler, Pat Green, Bri Bagwell, Roger Creager, and Randy Rogers!
More recently, in 2019, Darrel recorded his first all original full length album "Long Time Good Time" which features the singles "Blue Eyed Girl" and "Back Road". There is also a music video to the song "Back Road" available to view on Youtube!
In 2021, he released a second album titled "A Place To Go" which includes the most downloaded tracks "Gruene, Texas", "That's What She Said", and "Mama Jean"! Darrel's smooth easy to listen to vocal style and simple approach to songwriting is finding a way onto country playlists everywhere!
Darrel's music has been downloaded nationwide as well as overseas and in Canada, and several of his songs have received radio airplay and have been featured on country streaming stations in Texas and in California.
